Mitsubishi's New Lancer - all set to Rock the Indian Roads in 2009

Got your Eyes peeped out like dials?

Yes, this is really coming to India early 2009 (probably in 1st half) .

Just have a feel of the great interiors . All Black with Rockford Music System as standard including Sub Woofer and Amplifier (Just like in Outlander).
Sounding toooo good na!!!!!!!

This all new model, which was launched internationally in 2007, will be landing on Indian Roads, with HM and Mitsubishi, both keen to give the all-new Lancer the best shot possible.

Mitsubishi has attempted to give the new car more of Evo look and the softer, less sporty image of previous Lancers .
Its styling is incredibly striking, like a great white shark on the hunt, the rakish profile of the nose
unlike anything currently available. The stretched-back headlamps and the inverse triangular grille look like they could swallow you whole . There is also an interesting styling cut that runs along the bonnet and a prominent crease along the flanks as well .
The car looks very sporty when viewed side-on.
The long, potent-looking bonnet is offset by a stubby boot, the roof fits very snugly and the skinning on the car is nice and tight as well .

The sporting saloon effect is complete as you walk around the rear of the car, the Alfa Romeo-like tail-lights are real stunners. Add a mild body, some skirts and a spoiler - there comes the Junior Evo X .
Under the skin too, the car is more performance-oriented. Mitsubishi has improved the stiffness of the chasis by about 50 percent and has beefed up the suspension mounting points as well. Its now the improved version of the sophisticated all-independent system that has been fitted on every Lancer, but now with improved chasis with refinement, cutting out excessive noise and vibration. Sound-proof bulkheads have been used to alleviate road and engine noise and there are now double seals on the doors for that perfectly-encapsulated feel .
The petrol motor that powers the new Lancer will be an all new 2.0-litre MIVEC motor. the intake and the exhaust are different and this motor uses Mitsubishi's much-lauded MIVEC variable timing timing valve system. the light-weight all- aluminium motor breathes through 16 valves and has double overhead camshafts.
The other , but more interesting engine is 2.0-litre diesel. Its a motor that has been sourced from Volkswagen for the Lancer, using the Pumpe Duse system, called Pump-Jet in India, which is similar to the one used on VW Passat sold in India. The power is impressive at 140bhp and you can expect to get a generous slug of torque from the motor once the turbo is upto speed. It seems to be like the best of both worlds .

Its price could be anywhere in between 11 to 13 Lakhs (Ex-showroom), but that's not too expensive for such a good looking Sporty Beast.
Toyota(Corolla) and Honda(Civic) ............Get yourself prepared to face a very strong competition because of looks with a great Diesel Engine as well.

This car will definitely return fame and fortune for HM and Mitsubishi in India.........Good Luck
